Technique and session flow
Lymphatic drainage uses gentle, rhythmic movements directed toward lymph nodes to encourage fluid movement and ease puffiness. Therapists use light, deliberate strokes across the skin rather than deep muscle work; the goal in each area is to guide subtle flow toward draining points while maintaining client comfort and steady breathing.
A typical session is performed with the client comfortably draped on a treatment table. The therapist assesses areas of concern, sequences strokes from limbs toward the torso and neck, and may pause to re-evaluate tension or sensitivity. Pressure is light and intentional; clients usually feel soft, repetitive motion rather than strong kneading.
What to expect during treatment
This 75 MINUTES session begins with a brief consultation to note sensitivities, recent surgeries, medications, or pregnancy. You will remain draped and only the work area exposed; therapists explain each step and adapt the rhythm to your sensitivity. Sessions emphasize calm pacing, quiet transitions, and time for the body to respond to the movements.
Clients typically notice a gentle, relaxing sensation during the session and often report feeling less heavy afterward. We recommend arriving hydrated and wearing comfortable clothing. Because the technique is light, it’s appropriate for those who prefer a gentle approach and for scheduling before or after work or local activities.
Local timing and practical notes
Kalp Spa is located in Cary’s Keisler Drive area near Fred G. Bond Metro Park, convenient for clients commuting along I-40 or US-1. Appointments are often booked before or after work to fit Research Triangle Park and downtown schedules, and we coordinate timing around local events like Koka Booth Amphitheatre concerts.
Seasonal and lifestyle factors in the Triangle can influence appointment needs: humid summers and spring pollen may increase sensations of puffiness for some clients, while weekend family schedules and early-morning fitness routines often determine preferred booking times. We offer scheduling flexibility across Cary, Raleigh, Morrisville, Apex, Garner, and Holly Springs.
